Want to buy one mid 80's XLV skid frame

I am currently using two VMAX skid frames in my half track snow rail (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gyun4WAS37c) and need to carry the weight higher. Both VMAX shocks are full tight and the bottoms of the tunnels are still unacceptably close to the ground. If you watch the video at 4:10 it shows ho...

Re: 83 vmax 540...electric start?

I have a 540 XLV (air cooled) engine that has the ring gear on the magneto rotor.
I have no idea if they (ring gear and rotor) can be mounted on the 540 liquid cooled engine.
Is there enough room for a ring gear in that area?

Washington mountains got another couple feet of snow the last two weeks and we got some more seat time in the Half Track Snow Rail. This time we went up to Stampede Pass and Tacoma Pass. The snow was powder in the shadows and Peanut butter in the sun. We ran 38 miles before it started getting dark a...

We put another 40 miles on the Half Track Snow Rail today at the same location as my co-workers went on Friday. There was 12 inches of new snow on top of the ice they reported. We shot some video and I will post the links on the Half Track thread in the projects forum. The snow was either Peanut but...

The snow line was the same as last weekend. There was four inches of new snow in the pass and 12 inches reported on the top of Pyramid Peak. The snow gets pretty wet in the afternoons and then freezes again at night.

Receding snowline

We parked at 4100 feet up Naches pass yesterday. The first quarter mile was slush over ice. By 4500 feet, the trail was covered three feet deep with corn snow. It was like riding a snow cone. When we got up to 5000 feet, there was two inches of heavy wet snow on top of the corn snow. http://s2.posti...
