Motor Mount

What is the purpose of the metal wedge motor mount. I thought the wedge was to fine tune the engine alignment but I am unable to get it to move the engine with the other mounts loose. What am I missing here?

are you refering to a torque link like my srx has that keeps the motor from twisting under high velocity thus keeping the clutches aligned properly?

Could it be that the wedge forces the mount to return to the original position after being forced back under acceleration ?
