85 540 VMAX

I have a 85 540 VMAX and i swapped my blown up engine for a stock same year/stock 540. I forgot where the wires around the handle bars and the coil goes. Anyone have a wiring diagram? Also is there any way to test a cdi box? Thanks alot

Steve,
You really nead a service manual.........

there is no way to check a CDI the manual simply states to check the stator, T.O.R.S., ignition coil, plugs, wires, ect.... then if all checks out replace the C.D.I.

This is for an 83 but I think it is the same.

The 83 did not have the T.O.R.S. or hand warmers

It's not the same as a 85 the cdi box only has 3 terminals in the connector. Does any one have one they could sell? 85 VMAX 3 terminal round connector
