83 - 88 Stator the same?

Was the stator on the Vmaxs the same for all years?

If I understand it correctly: The later ones had a separate winding for the handlebar warmers whereas the early models used the same coil for both lighting and handlebar warmers.

True, the 85's up had a yellow wire with black stripe from the handbar warmer coil..
