Vmax 540 starting clutch setup?

Hi, I've got an 83 vmax 540 that I've restored from the ground up and I'm just about done with the motor. I have a Comet 108 C for a clutch and i've heard that these were not stock. Any information or help on a starting clutch setup for the Comet 108 C would be very helpful. Thanks!

Use the recomended weights and spring on the comet setup chart then add about .040 shim on the spring.

I ride at 4000 to 5000 feet therefore I tightened up the secondary another couple holes in accordance with the high altitude instructions.

Some run the gold spring 4400rpm, some a gold 4800


I run the Comet Purple #207758A and it is around 4500rpm with 1 spacer and A3 Weights
