86 seat repair?

I'm trying to salvage the seat on my 86. It is a 9 out of 10 but has a few small tears in the gold piping where it meets the gas tank. I would like to fix it or at least do something to it to keep it from worsening. Any suggestions?

Joe, Take the seat to a good reupholster shop and the piping can be easily replaced. This is a good time to replaced the crappy plywood bottom. The last seat I had done I replaced the plywood with a sheat of 1/4" hard plastic.
