Anyone have the proper procedure for adjusting the chain tension on an 83,

According to my SRV Manuel, which looks to me to be the same
8-15 mm (0.32 - 0.59) freeplay Torque locking nut to3.5 m-kg (25 ft lbs)
Now personalby, because I change gears in some of my sleds at times which means the chains will have either much more, or much less slack, or at times a different length chain is needed. What I shoot for is that the chain is never to tight to bind on the gears or tennsionor, or to loose to ratchet. A 1/2 in of flex in the movement works fine for me
