81 srx help????

how do you get the gear off the end of the crankshaft on a 81 srx to change the seal

I used heat to expand the gear and it came right off the crank. hope this helps

Take the bottom end to someone that has a press. Even if you get it off with heat you would not want to use heat with the new seal.

Heat with a blow torch with the old seal but be sure to mark the spot of the seal where it goes on with the new seal i put the gear on the fireplace for half hour and it slide right on.
